This play therapy training is offered On-Demand as a go-at-your-own pace course for non-contact hours.
Grief in children often looks different than it does in adults, and play therapy offers a unique and powerful way to support them through that process. This training will give clinicians practical tools and insight into how to use play therapy to help children navigate the emotional complexities of loss. We'll explore how grief shows up across different developmental stages, and how to create a safe, responsive play therapy environment that encourages healing. Whether you're just beginning to use play therapy or want to deepen your understanding, this training will offer a grounded and compassionate approach to working with grief in the playroom.

Nik has been a private practice counselor working in North Texas since 2017. He works with children aged (4+), adolescents, and adults, specializing in complex trauma, dissociative disorders, and play therapy. Previously Nik worked at an agency in Missouri providing play therapy to children in the foster care system. He offers continuing education to professionals especially within the topics of working with developmental trauma, dissociative disorders, and play therapy.

1. Identify and describe at least three ways play therapy supports children experiencing grief
2. List and explain a minimum of three strategies for creating a play therapy environment that facilitates grief processing in children
