Over a decade ago, Dr. Johnson’s passion for supervision and ethical practice led her to create CCFAM Training, a continuing education provider focused on ethics and supervision. As our passion for play therapy trainings has continued to expand, we are launching Play Therapy Training Resources to house all of our play therapy trainings and resources for play therapy professionals.

Our Mission is providing a lasting impact, equipping professionals, and offering diverse resources through training, supervision, coaching, and consultation to light the way for the next generation of mental health professionals.

Dr. Rhonda Johnson

LPC-S, LMFT-S, RPT-S, TBRI PRACTITIONER, EMDR CONSULTANT, SOMATIC EXPERIENCING™ PRACTITIONER

 

Dr. Rhonda Johnson is the founder and owner of the Center for Counseling and Family Relationships, a large, thriving group practice that was established in 2007 and specializes in family systems and trauma-informed approaches. Dr. Johnson is also the founder and owner of CCFAM Training, established in 2012, and Play Therapy Training Resources, established in 2021. Through these companies, she provides continuing education, supervision, and consultation. She is also a teaching fellow for B.H. Carroll Seminary.

Nik Johnson

M.S., LPC-S, Registered Play Therapist™- Supervisor, EMDR Consultant

Nik has been a private practice counselor working in North Texas since 2017. He works with children aged (4+), adolescents, and adults, specializing in complex trauma, dissociative disorders, and play therapy. Previously Nik worked at an agency in Missouri providing play therapy to children in the foster care system. He offers continuing education to professionals especially within the topics of working with developmental trauma, dissociative disorders, and play therapy.

Jaime Colatriano

LPC-S, RPT-S, EMDR CERTIFIED SOMATIC EXPERIENCING™ PRACTICTIONER

 Jaime Colatriano joined the Center for Counseling and Family Relationships in 2014. She completed her Master’s degree in Counseling at the University of North Texas in 2010. She received her License as a Professional Counselor in 2012 and became a Registered Play Therapist in 2013. Jaime is EMDR Certified. Prior to becoming a counselor, she worked for an Early Childhood Intervention Program, for 5 years, where she utilized knowledge about typical child development and gained experience in collaborating with school districts to help children and their families obtain appropriate services.

Chelsea Dorough

LCSW

 

Chelsea has been a private practice clinician at the Center for Counseling and Family Relationships since 2019. She graduated with an LCSW degree from California State University Fullerton in 2012. Chelsea works with children aged (4+), adolescents and adults, specializing in complex trauma. Previously, she worked in California providing specialty mental health services (including play therapy) to low-income children, teens, and adults, as well as youth in the foster care system.

Cristina Alvarez

INTERNATIONALLY CREDENTIALED SANDTRAY THERAPIST

 Cristina has been a private practice counselor at the Center for Counseling and Family Relationships since 2018. She earned her Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2015 and became Licensed as a Professional Counselor in 2018. Cristina is EMDR Trained and is an Internationally Credentialed Sandtray Therapist. Her prior experience includes counseling in a private university setting where she helped college students cope and adapt with life transitions and as a crisis counselor for children in schools. She works with adolescents, parents, and adults, specializing in trauma work.
