Training Description

This play therapy training is offered Live In-Person for contact hours and LIVE Webinar via Zoom for LIVE WEBINAR/non-contact hours.

There are times as play therapists when the needs of our clients are beyond the scope of our practice. This can be scary! Where do you send them? How do you know what is the right choice? How do you speak to the client and their parents about this? What happens when they come back to you for play therapy?

This training is designed with the outpatient play therapist in mind in order to equip them to assist families navigating the complex mental health system. Participants will: identify six levels of care that play therapy clients experience, discuss how to choose programs to refer to play therapy clients in their area, and demonstrate the ability to discuss levels of care with parents of play therapy clients in a therapeutic manner. After this training, participants will be able to speak fluently about each level of care - from intensive outpatient to acute care and from residential to long term care facilities.
