Training Description

This play therapy training is offered Live In-Person for contact hours and Virtual via Zoom Platform for non-contact hours. Looking for a training that provides you with all the essentials to be a successful Play Therapy Supervisor? Whether you are an experienced Play Therapy Supervisor or preparing to step into a Play Therapy supervisory role for the first time, this training is designed to equip you with practical tools, resources, and strategies to support your Play Therapy supervisees effectively. This workshop provides electronic resources to simplify documentation with the newest experience, supervision, and education requirements for your supervisees throughout the phases. The training combines Ready to Use Activities to start building positive Play Supervision Relationships and Play Therapy Activities to use in RPT supervision. Dr. Johnson will discuss the Play Therapy Developmental Model and its use in supervision. Participants are also given Ethical Paperwork and Play Therapy Evaluations needed for supervision in an electronic format.

1. Identify responsibilities of a play therapy supervisor and play therapy supervisee

2. Describe presented activities used to build a positive play therapy supervision relationship

3. Explain factors in the play supervision relationship that predict and affect the alliance

4. List ethical paperwork needed for a play supervision relationship, including Informed Consent, Contract, Off-Site Supervision Release, Weekly Documentation Form, and Remediation Plan

5. Discuss play therapy activity options to use in supervision

6. Select from evaluations to use in play therapy supervision

VIRTUAL TRAINING INFORMATION 

 
  • If you register for the Virtual Classroom training, make sure you have a good WIFI connection. 
  • Your computer will need a camera for you to be visible throughout the entire training to receive the certificate. 
  • We will be using Zoom for the training, and we will send you a link at least 24 hours before the start of the training.
  • You will need to download the Zoom program to be able to use the link. 
  • Please note that during the training there will be two 15-minute breaks in the morning and afternoon and a 30-minute lunch break.

Dr. Rhonda Johnson

LPC-S, LMFT-S, Registered Play Therapist™- Supervisor, Approved Clinical Supervisor, Trust Based Relational Intervention™ Practitioner, EMDR Consultant, Somatic Experiencing™ Practitioner   She is the founder and owner of the Center for Counseling and Family Relationships, a large, thriving group practice that was established in 2007 and specializes in family systems and trauma-informed approaches. Dr. Johnson is also the founder and owner of CCFAM Training, established in 2012, offering supervision and ethics courses. She is also the owner of Play Therapy Training Resources, established in 2021. Through those companies, she provides continuing education, supervision, and consultations.   Dr. Johnson has been supervising for the state of Texas since 2007, both individually and in groups, as well as virtually and in-person. She has provided supervision for supervisees within her practice, for those outside of her practice, and for supervisees with multiple sites including community agencies, adoption agencies, hospitals, and churches.

Per the RPT Standards set by the Association of Play Therapy: 

Participants are responsible for determining how each training aligns with their required primary areas. 

"Please review the training materials for each workshop and use your best clinical judgment to allocate hours across the various primary areas. Often, a single training will address multiple primary areas."

This training is non-refundable, unless cancelled by training provider. Event will be cancelled if fewer than 6 participants.

TRAINING CLASS SIZE

Per APT guidelines, all Live/Virtual trainings are limited to 50 total participants. The number of participants both in-person and virtual combined cannot exceed this amount.
