Training Description

This play therapy training is offered On-Demand as a go-at-your-own pace course for non-contact hours.

Play therapists face numerous ethical dilemmas involving both children and their families. In this experiential workshop, participants will apply personal state rules and codes of ethics and APT Best Practice Guidelines to over 20 play therapy vignettes involving ethical dilemmas. Special emphasis will be given to the following areas within APT Best Practice Guidelines: the therapeutic relationship; parents and family; confidentiality; professional responsibility; relationships with other professionals; evaluation, assessment, and interpretation; supervision and consultation; technology and telemental health. Five personal moral decision-making models will be reviewed and participants will select models to apply to their own play therapy practices.
